I found that Barron did read from the slides, but said lots in addition, to explain and re-explain how the experiments worked and why they are important. His tests are difficult for most people, because you have truly understand the material, and be able to extrapolate and apply it in new situations. You need to understand how the info is related. Memorizing will help for the multiple choice, but not the short answer. Great class, very challenging and interesting course.

Bless Dr. Barron and his awesome sweaters. He tries so hard and you can tell he's really interested in what he's teaching. However, I couldn't go through a whole class without falling asleep - content was dryyyy. Moderately difficult class but not impossible.

Very repetitive. Most of the information is covered in a lot of the other core courses. I found it hard to pay attention with Prof. Barron as he doesn't do much to keep you interested. He tends to read off of the overheads a lot and I find he adds very little additional information. I didn't enjoy the way the exams were formatted. The majority of the exams weren't material based like other courses, 90% of the exams revolved around information from the ZAPS experiments. Overall, I kind of wished I had taken this class with Meegan or just chose to not take this one and had taken Neuroscience instead...
