ARTH 1510 - Art Historical Studies I F (3-0) [0.50]

This course considers the visual arts in the Western tradition from prehistory through the Middle Ages. Emphasis will be placed on historical and critical analysis of key monuments and on the prerequisite technologies, as well as on various ways of looking at the visual past and present.

Comment :
I had Professor Meyer for this class and she was a good teacher, but I found the content a little more on the dry side. There wasn't a lot of 'history' being incorporated into the class as the 'art' part. Some of the pieces were pretty cool, but the textbook goes a lot more in depth! If you are thinking of taking ARTH 1520, take it! This class is a solid intro to the next part.

Very simple class. Quite a bit of memorizing, there was no essays, just 2 midterms, essay, and tutorial attendance marks. Good introduction to art history, not as interesting as Historical arts 2.
